Voces Fantasmas

Multi-Disciplinary

Program Notes

Voces Fantasmas is a multi-disciplinary  program honoring immigrants who are in ICE detention. The program is based on experiences of Houston-based Mexican composer, J.E. Hernández, and his own 60 day ICE imprisonment. The work had its world premiere at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, shortly after a feature by the JFK Kennedy Center for the Arts.

The work features original choreography, original cinema (direction and writing), and an original score. Both an album and a full length film version of the program is also available.
